H2S Alive.
|

This eight-hour course covers the physical properties, potential
locations and exposure limits of H2S. It contains procedures to follow
in the event of an H2S release. The attendee will also learn about
breathing apparatus use in an H2S environment, measurement and
detection devices, basic rescue techniques and artificial respiration
for H2S victims.

Confined Space Entry

This eight-hour course is designed to increase the attendee's knowledge
of the hazards associated with confined space entry. The course covers
definition of a confined space, hazards, legislation, roles and responsibilities,
personal protective equipment, air monitoring and rescue.

Construction Safety Training System (CSTS)
|
|
Construction Safety Training System (CSTS). This is a 12 module, computer
based training program intended for workers who want to gain an understanding
of safety issues on a construction job site. This training is mandatory
in industrial or pipeline construction. A generic WHMIS certificate
is included. Training takes approximately four hours to complete.

This four-hour course is for anyone who might come in contact with a
hazardous material, especially in the workplace. The course covers
legislation, identification and classification of hazardous materials,
labeling, material safety data sheets, health hazards and personal
protective equipment.

This four-hour course is designed to train participants in their legal
responsibilities applicable to the safe handling, transporting and
storing of any of the nine classes of dangerous goods. Course contents
include: the nine classifications, documentation requirements, safety
marks, transportation and training requirements.

Flag Person
|

This four-hour course covers employer and worker responsibilities,
tools, practices and procedures, personal protective equipment,
legislation, flagging techniques and communicating with work crews as
well as the public. This course is a prerequisite to being employed as
a flagger.
This four-hour course is designed to provide employees with a basic
understanding of historical uses of asbestos, properties, associated
health hazards and legislation governing contact with asbestos in the
workplace.
Respiratory Protection
Respiratory Protection is a four-hour course. Topics of instruction will include the different types of
respirators, the limitations of respirator use, the process for selecting the appropriate respirator for a hazard,
fit testing of respirators, and the storage, care, cleaning, inspection and maintenance of respirators.
Standard First Aid.
This two day course gives participants critical knowledge and
the confidence to effectively manage an emergency, without panic or
confusion. The focus is on giving first aid for common injuries that
could occur in the workplace, or at home. It gives participants the
basic skills needed to reduce shock, contain injuries and in many
cases, save lives.
Hantavirus Awareness
This four-hour seminar is designed to provide the attendee
with an understanding of recent history of hantavirus, risk groups by
occupation of those most at risk, hazards associated with exposure,
personal protective equipment and safe work practices during exposure.
Fall Protection

This eight hour course is endorsed by OSSA, ACSA and the
Alberta Building Materials Association among others. It is designed to
provide the end user with the skills to be able to choose and don the
appropriate fall protection equipment for every application.

Fire Extinguisher Training.
This four hour course will cover the following topics: how
fires happen, different types of fires, knowing when to attack a fire,
types of extinguishers and their ratings, choosing the right
extinguisher, proper activation, application techniques, maintenance
and storage.
